I am a lifelong learner and am generally interested in Artifical Intelligence, Machine Learning and their applications to various domains in daily life. I am currently involved in developing applications of Gen AI in the health domain. In the past, I have successfully developed and deployed products in several companies - Rankers for Address Search at Apple Maps, fine tuned models for query understanding at Siri, Search systems for education, Advertising at Yahoo! labs and Amazon, Spam detection and Search at Microsoft, Data Science at LinkedIn etc. I love to stay curious and learn new things other than these areas of general interest.

Outside of the crazy professional life, I stay sane with my pursuits in reading, music, exploring the glorious architectures of ancient temples and travel with my wonderful family. I am also passionate about photography and am ably assisted by my partner in crime - my Fuji XT-5.

My current bias is towards applied research. I derive satisfaction in seeing things work - think code, prototypes, demos. Having said that, I do believe in having a strong theoretical foundation and intuition for applied work.

I earned my Ph.D in Computer Science from The University at Albany (SUNY) after which I spent two wonderful years at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver. A (rather dated) list of publications from the past can be found here.
